Description
The Patient Administrator is responsible for:
Developing and implementing policies and procedures for handling patient information.
Processing medical documents.
Providing information on benefits and insurance data.
Corresponding with federal, state, and local statutes.
Overseeing patient services, quality assurance, and public relations.
Evaluating personnel and preparing daily reports.
Assisting with recruitment, consenting, screening, and enrollment of personnel.
Interviewing patients for case histories prior to appointments.
Updating and maintaining patients’ health records.
Assisting patients with initial paperwork.
Scheduling and coordinating appointments.
Processing insurance claims in compliance with legal requirements.
Monitoring budgets and preparing reports.
Maintaining medical and staff records.
Tracking medical and office supplies stock.
Creating work schedules for staff members.
Keeping records of expenses and suggesting ways to minimize costs.
Requirements
Proven work experience as a Healthcare Administrator, Medical Office Manager or relevant role
Knowledge of healthcare regulations and medical law
Understanding of medical terminology
Experience with administrative and accounting procedures
Familiarity with databases and spreadsheets (especially MS Excel)
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Communication skills with a problem-solving attitude
BS degree in Healthcare Administration or Business Administration, with a qualification in healthcare
