- Choosing the most appropriate imaging technique for a patients diagnosis while minimizing radiation exposure
Collaborating with other staff
Working with radiographers and other medical professionals to ensure quality treatment
Performing procedures
Carrying out interventional procedures, such as catheter placement, transhepatic biliary drainage, and percutaneous transluminal angioplasty
Writing reports
Writing up imaging reports and sharing case information with multidisciplinary teams
Teaching
Instructing junior staff and conducting research and audits
Communicating with patients
Discussing test results with patients and their families, and explaining how images are taken
- Requirements
- Radiologist Requirements and Qualifications
● Valid ACLS and BLS certification
● Specialization degree and successful 5-years of residency
● Valid state licensure to practice
● Proven success with relevant procedures and treatments
● Compliance with all laws and hospital policies
● Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the specialty is preferred
● Good manners and effective communication skills.
