- A Neonatology Specialist, also known as a Neonatologist, is a highly trained medical doctor who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of newborn infants, particularly those born prematurely, with birth defects, or experiencing critical illnesses, providing intensive care in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) while offering support and guidance to families throughout the process; their responsibilities include managing complex medical conditions, performing specialized procedures, coordinating care with other healthcare professionals, and ensuring optimal development of the newborn.
- Requirements
- Proven work experience as a Neonatologist or similar role
A willingness to work long hours and remain on-call for emergency situations
The ability to work under pressure and stress
Strong communication skills and patience and empathy towards patients and their families
Strong dedication and motivation for helping newborn infants
Relevant training and/or certifications as a Neonatologist
