They also diagnose, manage, and treat a variety of conditions affecting these organs, often attending outpatient clinics and ward rounds. This includes both adult and pediatric surgeries, with some specialists focusing on specific areas like congenital cardiac surgery or transplantation.

Requirements: Qualifications:

- Doctor of Medicine degree (MD) from an accredited medical school

- Completed residency in general surgery and fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery

- Board-certified or board-eligible in cardiothoracic surgery

- Valid medical license in the state of practice

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery

- Excellent clinical and surgical skills

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Willingness to participate in continuing education and professional development activities
